Dagorhir, as you may have surmised, is a live action, full contact sport that seeks to recreate medieval style combat through the use of safely padded weapons. Guilder is a regional organization that holds events and practices in the DFW and surrounding area.

In order to play Dagorhir, all you need is a waiver, weapons, and medieval style garb. The waiver can be found here: http://www.dagorhir.com/dagorhir/Dagorhirwaiver.pdf Weapons and garb can be either made or purchased. Many good tutorials for creating both weapons and garb can be found on the main Dagorhir website here: http://www.dagorhir.com/gear/ Garb can also be purchased from many sites online. A list of Dagorhir endorsed sites can be found here: http://dagorhir.com/links.htm, although feel free to purchase garb from any place you can find it. There are fewer sites that sell Dagorhir legal weaponry, but three that do are http://www.axeandarrow.com, http://www.edhellen.com, and http://www.warlordsports.com (be sure to purchase weighted weapons from this one).

The basic rules of Dagorhir here can be found here: http://dagorhir.com/dagorhir/Rules.htm and it is recommended that you read through these to learn the basics. Feel free to attend a practice as soon as possible, even if you don’t understand everything, so you can see how the rules work in action and ask for clarification on anything thing doesn’t make sense to you. Dagorhir is best explained when you can show how everything works.

To join us, bring your filled out, and notarized if you’re under 18, waiver to any of our practices. We have three different practice locations that meet at different times of the week, and you can attend as many or as few of them as you want. It is greatly recommended that you join our Google Group at http://groups.google.com/group/dagorhir-guilder to be sure that the practice you want to attend will be happening this week.
